90-Day Supervised Medically-Assisted Rapid Transformation (SMART) Program

The 90-day Supervised Medically-Assisted Rapid Transformation (SMART) Program is ILWM’s 3-month high-intensity fitness program. Designed for people who want to work aggressively, see results quickly, or who have a time-sensitive need to lose weight, the SMART program is an accelerated version of our time-tested Change for Good program. This program is ideal for a New Year’s Resolution, brides-to-be, those preparing for the beach, and new mothers, the SMART program is the intelligent and safe way to lose weight and get in shape in a short period of time.

If desired, during the last two weeks of the 90-Day SMART Program, ILWM trainers will help transition those members from the 90-Day SMART Program to a Gold’s Gym or an ILWM Change for Good membership (membership fees not included).

Physician Consultation

At ILWM, our medically-based team-oriented approach makes it essential that the physician understands your motivations and limitations in order to support your long-term success. All new members are scheduled for a one-hour physician appointment where you will walk the physician through your medical and family history, and a thorough physical will be conducted, concluding with one-on-one consultation regarding clearance for safe exercising and the need for any further diagnostic tests. This process is repeated quarterly.

Comprehensive Health Assessment

We conduct a comprehensive series of diagnostic tests to establish your basic level of health, to identify any co-morbid conditions that may be affecting you and to determine limitations to your participation in our program. We start by conducting a body composition assessment, which includes your body fat percentage, Body Mass Index, basal metabolic rate, hydration status and weight. We also conduct lab tests to obtain relevant clinical information. All of this data is used by our healthcare practitioners to properly determine and manage the appropriate path of change for you.

Nutrition Consultation

Our Registered Dietitians meet with you individually and develop a personalized meal plan that meets your needs. During your first three weeks in the program, you will meet regularly with the Dietitians to fine-tune any areas of the plan that you would like to change. During these meetings, the Dietitians provide education on basic nutrition, portion control, label reading, healthy shopping, eating on the run and other relevant nutrition topics.

Personal Training

The SMART program features three one-on-one ½ hour Personal Training Sessions per week for twelve weeks. These sessions are designed to help you achieve your exercise and fitness goals. An ILWM Exercise specialist will work with you to develop a personalized exercise. These sessions in conjunction with the Exclusive SMART Group Fitness Classes make for an unmatched exercise jumpstart experience.

Exercise Consultation

The Exercise Physiologists and Personal Trainers at ILWM will work with you one-on-one to develop a custom workout routine that fits both your individual needs and lifestyle. After developing your exercise program, they will instruct you on implementing the plan in our 2,500 sq. ft. fitness center, ensuring your comfort and understanding of the equipment. As you continue down the path to better health, they are always available to answer questions and modify your exercise program as needed.

Exercise Classes

The SMART program features exclusive group physical activity classes (once a week) led by a ILWM-certified trainer. These classes are for the SMART program participants only and are specifically designed for weight loss participants, these classes help burn calories, increase strength, and improve conditioning.

Cooking & Educational Classes

With a staff of dietitians, exercise physiologists, physicians, psychologists, and coaches, ILWM has a host of educational offerings. From healthy gourmet cooking to stress management, classes are included and open to all members. We also hold regularly scheduled aerobics and movement classes, and expert lectures on such topics as proper nutrition, time management, stress management, and other self-improvement issues.

Behavioral Program

The SMART Program features weekly group behavioral skill-building classes lasting 1.5 hours each. The lessons introduce members to the most effective weight loss strategies and skills needed to successfully make lifestyle changes.

Weekly Weigh-in

In order to monitor the progress of our members, ILWM encourages weekly weigh-ins. A team member will assist each member in obtaining the weight, BMI, and other body composition data. This will allow our staff to track progress and determine whether the diet plan or exercise program needs to be modified.
